Whatever line of work you’re in, rich or not, skinny or slim, keeping your body moving is absolutely vital for you mental and physical health.
I’m recovering from wrist surgery and it’s safe to say I’m going abit crazy being unable to use my dominant wrist and hand.
Going for a walk and training other body parts has helped me feel much better.
Physical health is inseparable from mental health. Wherever the body goes the mind will follow.
It really is that easy.
Here’s a thought experiment. Is good mental health possible without good physical health?
I don’t think it is.
What do you think?
Moving and working on your physical health will give you freedom, partly because you’ll have more energy, be happier as exercise releases endorphins and you’ll sleep better.
Humans are meant to move.
Unfortunately our sedentary culture forgets that.
We need to make sure we don’t get lost in unhealthy culture and instead focus on what humans have done for eons. Move.
It’s estimated that our hunter gatherer ancestors walked 6 to 16 km per day.
As a bear minimum they would walk just under an hour per day.
The Bottom line
It’s In our nature to move. Make sure you plan some physical activity into your routine everyday. It doesn’t matter whether you simply go on a walk or lift weights. Ideally a mix of both is best.
