Yesterday I was thinking of a quote by Saint Augustine, and I paraphrase, it says to “Do what you can and pray for what you can’t.”

But the thing is, how many people are actually doing what they can (including myself).

As a Christian it’s very easy to pray for what I have no control over, and hope for the best.

But the fact is, God or the universe for non-religious folk, does not help you if you don’t help yourself, that Is to say, if you don’t do what you can.

If you are going to pray or hope something goes your way, realise the universe will only help you if you’re doing everything you can to help yourself.

And by doing everything you can you make your own luck.

And you’ll see eventually that the work you put in isn’t in vain.

Because what goes around comes around.

This is true for both positive actions but it’s even more clearer to see when people act wrongly.
