On the internet you’ll come across BS vendors, who talk a load of waffle that might be spoken in a way that makes you listen.
But you’ll find that these BS vendors will have complex ideas that sound fascinating in theory, but when tested in the real world make no sense at all.
Some of these BS vendors are people such as Jordan Peterson, Sam Harris and Robert Greene.
These people sound intellectual, but in reality, they’re idiots.
The best wisdom is very straightforward and not complex at all (its something your grandmother might say).
And if anyone makes anything sound very complex, and difficult in practice be very skeptical.
I admit that I use to listen to the hogwash that Jordan Peterson peddled, but the fact that I can’t remember anything at all from his work, means that there is clearly no value in it.
Be very careful because there are many intellectual yet idiots online, their ideas sound revolutionary in theory but don’t cut it at all in reality.
I’ve found a simple solution to not fall victim to these nit wits:
It’s far better to read books that have stood the test of time by people who have done amazing things and thus have skin in the game (this usually means reading the classics).
And learn from your own experiences.
If someone gets paid for his writing or doing talks be very skeptical.
Instead, listen to people who are intellectually free.
Because the former has an agenda and they’re willing to do or say whatever to increase their bottom line.
The latter doesn’t have any agenda.
But what do I know?
