I used to read and listen to whatever was popular or trendy, and I wondered why I was making all the wrong decisions in my life. I mean this guru said I should do it this way.

But the truth is, idiots can amass huge online followings and trick you into believing BS.

So one thing that’s helping me much more in my life is to only listen to people with skin in the game, that is to say, people who have paid a price for the information they spread.

For example you wouldn’t learn how to play tennis from a bad tennis player. You’d learn from someone who is far better than you. Someone who has put the hard work in. Ideally from someone with ultimate skin in the game like Roger Federer.

Don’t let smooth talkers trick you, only listen to people with skin in the game, because those people are the ones who hold true credibility.
