Have a drink

In this modern world of optimisation people are drinking less and less, now it’s even common for people to avoid alcohol at all costs because there is apparently “no safe amount to consume”.

A few years ago I was sucked into the over optimisation of the human body type content and as a result I rarely touched a drop of alcohol. Because I never had any issues with alcohol I never experienced any advantages of going completely sober as I’ve never been a a big drinker in the first place.

During the past year or so I’ve been drinking more (usually red or white wine with a meal) and I’ve enjoyed the looseness it gives me. A couple of drinks one to two times per week helps me decompress and if you pair the wine with the right sort of meals then it also becomes enjoyable from a taste point of view.

I’ve stopped drinking the processed Budweiser, carling and coors type of lagers and beers and I now only drink the stuff that is made properly and that I enjoy.

Humans have been drinking alcohol for thousands of years and probably will drink it for a few thousand more (wine is thousands of years old).

And from experience it’s best to drink while enjoying a tasty meal while in the company of family and friends. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with that.

So if you are getting swayed by the over optimisation bores that pollute the internet then relax and enjoy a drink or two. And block the twerps who are getting you to optimise to no end.

There is nothing wrong with enjoying alcohol in moderation, but the problems arise when you break the bounds of moderation and get drunk.

With most things in life the advice I follow is:

Unrestrained moderation.
